With so much content flooding the airwaves it may seem virtually impossible to  create an original piece of music that makes a lasting impact.  In fact, modern producers are under so much pressure to generate hit after hit that quality has taken a turn for the worse in recent years.

It is my belief that the answer to this conundrum is to master the balance between hook-i-ness  and musical complexity.  We’ve all experienced that ‘ear worm’ of a song that was awesome at first but quickly became the most infuriating thing we’d ever heard.  Likewise, we all know that song that is both original and musically complex but is also devoid of any qualities that move us or make us care at all.  Peaking  your audience’s  interest and then rewarding them for repeated listening is vital.

Marc Antonio Pritchett has worked as a composer-producer / sound engineer for the past 18 years.  He has worked with award-winning recording artists like Justin Timberlake, 30 Seconds to Mars and Josh Groban, and performed live with Jordan Smith on NBC’s The Voice.  Students can tailor their lessons as they see fit, choosing between music theory, composition, song creation, beat making, arranging and production.

Sessions can be 30 minutes or an hour. Hour long sessions work best in most situations. Lessons can be done in person (in my studio) or via Skype.
