Modern Classics Collection

Works in the Modern Classics Collection are written in one of the many styles that occurred before, during or after the "common practice period".  While significant focus is placed on honoring the historical traits of the chosen style, these pieces are not idiomatic for purely academic reasons.  They all stem from an emotional prompt, with the challenge being to effectively convey this to a modern listener using only the tools of the chosen era.  The intention is to add music to the existing repertoire that is not only enjoyable to perform, but that is also engaging and accessible to both the veteran and casual audience.  For the composer, they serve as an emotional and intellectual exploration of the universal truths that lie beneath the art of composition itself.

Black Label Collection

Where the Modern Classics Collection looks to the past for inspiration, works in the Black Label Collection are forward-leaning in their conception.  The challenge, as always, is to find new ways to push the boundaries of convention while remaining accessible to a broad audience.
